Eliquis 5mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Apixaban, which belongs to a class of medications known as anticoagulants or blood thinners. It is prescribed to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, as well as to prevent and treat blood clots in various conditions.

Active Ingredient:

Apixaban: This medication works by inhibiting the activity of specific clotting factors in the blood, particularly factor Xa, which plays a key role in the formation of blood clots.

Uses:

Eliquis 5mg Tablet is indicated for:

• Prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation
• Treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE)
• Reduction of the risk of recurrent DVT and PE following initial therapy

Mechanism of Action:

Apixaban exerts its anticoagulant effects by selectively inhibiting factor Xa, which interrupts the coagulation cascade and prevents the formation of blood clots.

Administration:
