Brinzolamide reduces the amount of fluid the eye makes, which brings down the pressure inside it. Lowering that pressure is the only proven way to protect the optic nerve from further damage in glaucoma.

Blurred vision for a few minutes after instilling
Bitter taste in the mouth
Eye irritation or a dry feeling
Headache

Precautions

It is a milky suspension, so shake the bottle before use. Glaucoma causes no symptoms until sight is already lost, which is why the drops must be used daily exactly as prescribed. Press gently on the inner corner of the eye for a minute after instilling to reduce the taste. Leave five minutes between different drops and remove contact lenses first.
