AMLODIPINE
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels to lower blood pressure. It is taken once a day and also helps with a type of chest pain called angina.

Common Side Effects
- Swelling of the ankles or feet
- Flushing
- Headache
- Tiredness
Precautions
Ankle swelling is a common effect and is not usually harmful, but tell your doctor if it bothers you. Do not stop the medicine on your own, as blood pressure can rise again. Grapefruit juice can increase the amount of amlodipine in the body, so limit it.
