Clomiphene is a fertility medicine that encourages the ovaries to release an egg. It is used to help with certain causes of difficulty conceiving.
What Clomiphene Citrate Is Used For
- Stimulating ovulation in some fertility problems
- Certain cases of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
Common Side Effects
- Hot flushes
- Mood changes
- Bloating or abdominal discomfort
Precautions
Clomiphene is used under a doctor’s supervision, often with monitoring, because it raises the chance of a twin pregnancy and needs the timing to be right. Tell your doctor about any abdominal swelling or pain, or vision changes. It is used for a limited number of cycles.
