DOXYCYCLINE
Doxycycline is a tetracycline antibiotic used for a wide range of infections. It is also used to prevent malaria in travellers and to treat acne.

Common Side Effects
- Nausea and stomach upset
- Sensitivity to sunlight
- Throat irritation if not taken with water
Precautions
Take doxycycline with a full glass of water and stay upright for at least half an hour, as it can irritate the food pipe. Your skin may burn more easily in the sun. Keep antacids, iron and dairy at least two hours apart, as they reduce absorption. It is avoided in pregnancy and young children.
