KETOPROFEN
Ketoprofen is a non steroidal anti inflammatory. It blocks the enzymes that produce prostaglandins, reducing pain, swelling and fever. It comes as capsules, injection and as a gel applied to the skin.
What Ketoprofen Is Used For
- Arthritis and joint pain
- Back pain, sprains and sports injuries
- Painful periods
- Pain after surgery or dental work
Common Side Effects
- Indigestion and stomach pain
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Skin sensitivity to sunlight with the gel
Precautions
Take it with food and use the lowest amount for the shortest time. It is not suitable with a stomach ulcer, and it needs caution with kidney disease, heart failure, high blood pressure or asthma. The gel can cause marked sun sensitivity, so keep treated skin covered. Stop and seek help for black stools, vomiting blood, severe stomach pain or a sudden drop in urine output.
