Citalopram is an antidepressant from the SSRI group, used for depression and panic disorder. It is taken once a day and works gradually.

Precautions

Do not stop citalopram suddenly – the dose is lowered slowly. It can take three to four weeks to feel the full benefit. Tell your doctor if you feel unusually low or restless in the early weeks, and mention any heart rhythm problem, as the dose has an upper limit for this reason.
