Diagesic Extra Tablet is a combination medication containing Paracetamol and Tramadol as its active ingredients. Paracetamol is a widely used analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). Tramadol is a centrally acting opioid analgesic, which provides relief from moderate to severe pain by acting on the opioid receptors in the brain.

Uses

Diagesic Extra Tablet is prescribed for the following purposes:

  • Relief of moderate to severe pain: Tramadol, in combination with Paracetamol, provides effective pain relief in conditions such as post-operative pain, musculoskeletal pain, dental pain, and other painful conditions.
  • Management of fever: Paracetamol helps reduce fever by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center in the brain.

Side Effects

When Not to Use

Diagesic Extra Tablet should not be used in the following circumstances:

  • Hypersensitivity to Paracetamol, Tramadol, or any other ingredients in the medication.
  • Severe respiratory depression or obstructive airway disease.
  • Concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of discontinuing MAOIs.
