When Not to Use

Epitab XR 400mg tablet should not be used in certain situations, including:

1. Allergy: If you have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to carbamazepine or any components of the tablet, avoid using Epitab XR.
2. Previous Severe Reactions: If you have experienced severe adverse reactions (such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis) to carbamazepine or other drugs in the same class, do not take Epitab XR.
3. Bone Marrow Suppression: Individuals with bone marrow suppression or a history of blood disorders should avoid Epitab XR, as it may worsen these conditions.
4. Concurrent Use of Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs): Epitab XR should not be taken within 14 days of discontinuing MAOIs due to the risk of severe and potentially life-threatening reactions.
5. Porphyria: If you have a history of porphyria, a group of rare genetic disorders affecting enzymes involved in heme production, carbamazepine should be avoided.
