Getzid Mr 30mg Tablet

Getzid MR 30mg Tablet contains Gliclazide as its active ingredient. Gliclazide belongs to the class of sulfonylurea antidiabetic agents and is used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas, thereby helping to lower blood sugar levels.

Indications:

Getzid MR 30mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and weight reduction alone do not result in adequate glycemic control.

Dosage and Administration:

• The usual starting dose of Getzid MR 30mg Tablet is 30 mg once daily, preferably taken with breakfast or the first main meal of the day.
• The dosage may be adjusted based on individual response, but should not exceed 120 mg daily.
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, without chewing or crushing it.

Precautions:

• Use Getzid MR 30mg Tablet with caution in patients with a history of hypoglycemia or impaired liver or kidney function.
• Monitor blood glucose levels regularly during treatment with Getzid MR 30mg Tablet.
• Avoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking this medication, as it may increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Contraindications:

• Getzid MR 30mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe liver or kidney impairment, or a history of hypersensitivity to sulfonylureas.
