ZOFRAN 8MG INJECTION

Zofran 8mg Injection contains Ondansetron as its active ingredient. Ondansetron is a selective serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist primarily used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery. It works by blocking serotonin, a natural substance in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting.

Uses:

Zofran 8mg Injection is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. It is particularly effective in preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) and post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Zofran injection is often used when oral administration is not feasible or when rapid onset of action is required, such as in patients who are unable to swallow or are experiencing severe nausea and vomiting.

Side Effects:

Like any medication, Zofran 8mg Injection may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects may include headache, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, and transient elevation of liver enzymes. In some cases, it may cause more serious side effects such as allergic reactions, serotonin syndrome (characterized by agitation, hallucinations, rapid heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering, or muscle stiffness), or abnormal heart rhythms.
