ONDANSETRON

Ondansetron is an anti-sickness medicine that controls nausea and vomiting. It is used especially where nausea is severe, such as with chemotherapy or after surgery.

• Nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy or radiotherapy
• Nausea and vomiting after surgery
• Severe vomiting in some other conditions

Common Side Effects

• Constipation
• Headache
• Tiredness

Precautions

Ondansetron is usually a short-course medicine for specific situations. Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem or take other medicines that affect the heart, as it can affect the heart’s rhythm in some people. Constipation is common, so drink water and eat fibre.
