Oxiconazole nitrate is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis). It belongs to a class of drugs known as imidazole antifungals.
Oxiconazole nitrate works by inhibiting the growth of fungi and preventing them from multiplying. It disrupts the synthesis of ergosterol, a crucial component of fungal cell membranes, leading to the death of the fungus and resolution of the infection
