Erdosteine thins and loosens mucus to make a chesty cough easier to clear. It is used where thick phlegm is a problem, such as in bronchitis.

What Erdosteine Is Used For

  • Chesty cough with thick phlegm
  • Bronchitis and conditions with sticky mucus

Common Side Effects

  • Nausea
  • Stomach upset
  • Headache

Precautions

Erdosteine helps clear phlegm rather than suppressing the cough. Tell your doctor if you have, or have had, a stomach ulcer, or if you have liver or kidney problems. See a doctor if a cough lasts more than a couple of weeks or comes with high fever or breathlessness.
