GATIFLOXACIN

Gatifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used mainly as eye drops for bacterial eye infections. It is applied directly to the affected eye.

What Gatifloxacin Is Used For

• Bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis
• Preventing infection around eye surgery

Common Side Effects

• Brief stinging or irritation
• Temporary blurred vision
• Watery eyes

Precautions

Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye, and do not wear contact lenses while treating an eye infection. Complete the course even after the eye looks better. See a doctor if there is eye pain, marked vision change or no improvement.
