Irbesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels to lower blood pressure. It also helps protect the kidneys in diabetes.

  • Dizziness, especially at first
  • Headache
  • Tiredness

Precautions

Stand up slowly when you first start or increase the dose. Your doctor may check kidney function and potassium from time to time. Irbesartan must not be taken during pregnancy – tell your doctor straight away if you become pregnant or plan to.
