Ketorolac trometamol is a potent non steroidal anti inflammatory used for short term moderate to severe pain, mainly after surgery. Its strength is comparable to some opioids for certain pain, but it carries the risks of the NSAID class in concentrated form.

What Ketorolac Trometamol Is Used For

  • Short term management of moderate to severe pain after surgery
  • Renal colic
  • Severe musculoskeletal pain, briefly
  • Eye drops for inflammation after eye surgery

Common Side Effects

  • Stomach pain and indigestion
  • Nausea
  • Headache and drowsiness
  • Increased bleeding tendency

Precautions

Treatment is deliberately limited to a few days because the risks of stomach bleeding and kidney injury rise sharply with longer use. It is not suitable with an ulcer, kidney disease, or before or after certain surgery because it affects clotting. It should not be combined with another anti inflammatory. Seek help for black stools, vomiting blood or reduced urine output.
