Mesalazine reduces inflammation in the bowel. It is used to treat and to help prevent flare-ups of inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis.

- Maintaining remission between flare-ups
Common Side Effects
- Nausea
- Stomach pain
- Headache
Precautions
Keep taking mesalazine regularly, even when you feel well, as it helps prevent flare-ups. Tell your doctor about any unexplained bleeding, bruising or sore throat, and about worsening tummy symptoms. Your doctor may check kidney function during treatment.
