Neomycin is an antibiotic used mainly on the skin, eyes and ears, often combined with other ingredients, to treat or prevent bacterial infection.

  • Skin infections, in cream form
  • Eye and ear infections, in drop form, often with a steroid

  • Allergic skin reaction with prolonged use

Precautions

Use neomycin preparations for the time advised and not longer, as prolonged use on the skin can cause an allergic reaction. Avoid using it in the ear if the eardrum may be perforated, unless a doctor advises. Use only the preparation labelled for the eyes in the eyes.
