Atorvastatin is a statin that lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and helps protect against heart attack and stroke. It is taken once daily, long term, alongside a healthy diet.

- Muscle aches

Precautions
Report any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness to your doctor, especially with dark urine. Your doctor may check liver function occasionally. Statins are not taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Keep grapefruit juice and alcohol to a minimum while on atorvastatin.
