BUFEXAMAC+ NYSTATIN AND NEOMYCIN+ TOPICAL
This cream combines three actions. Bufexamac is a topical anti inflammatory, nystatin treats yeast infection, and neomycin covers bacteria. It is used where an inflamed rash is also infected, most often in moist skin folds.
What This Combination Is Used For
- Inflamed rashes in skin folds, under the breasts or groin
- Nappy rash with yeast infection
- Eczema that has become infected
- Itchy irritated skin around the anal area
Common Side Effects
- Local burning or stinging
- Contact allergy, which both bufexamac and neomycin can cause
- Redness and irritation
Precautions
If the rash becomes more red and itchy after several days of use, suspect allergy to the cream itself rather than a failing treatment. Use it for short courses on limited areas, not on large surfaces or broken skin. A rash that keeps returning, spreads or weeps should be diagnosed properly, since eczema, fungal infection and psoriasis need different treatment.
