CEFADROXIL

Cefadroxil is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic taken by mouth. It is dosed once or twice a day, which makes the course easier to complete.

What Cefadroxil Is Used For

• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Throat and tonsil infections
• Urinary tract infections

Common Side Effects

• Nausea or stomach upset
• Loose motions
• Skin rash

Precautions

Taking cefadroxil with food helps if it upsets your stomach. As with every antibiotic, finish the prescribed course so the infection is fully cleared. It does not work on colds, flu or other viral infections, and should not be taken left over from a previous illness.
