CHLORAMPHENICOL
Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic used mainly as eye drops and ointment for bacterial eye infections, and as ear drops. It is a common treatment for conjunctivitis.

- Bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis
- Bacterial ear infections, in drop form
Common Side Effects
- Brief stinging after eye drops
- Temporary blurred vision
- Local irritation
Precautions
For eye infections, avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye, and do not wear contact lenses while the infection is being treated. Complete the course even after the eye looks better. See a doctor if there is eye pain, marked vision change or no improvement.
