Eflornithine cream slows the enzyme hair follicles need to grow. Applied to the face it makes unwanted hair grow more slowly and finer, so hair removal is needed less often. It does not remove hair that is already there.

Precautions

It works only while it is being used, and hair returns to its previous pattern within a couple of months of stopping. Allow four to eight weeks before judging it, and continue your usual hair removal method alongside. Apply to clean dry skin and not to broken skin. Sudden or rapid new hair growth, especially with irregular periods or a deepening voice, should be investigated by a doctor.
