FENOFIBRATE

Fenofibrate is a lipid-lowering medicine used mainly to lower high triglycerides and to help raise good (HDL) cholesterol. It is taken alongside a healthy diet.

• High triglyceride levels
• Mixed cholesterol problems
• Added to a statin in some cases, on a doctor’s advice

• Stomach upset
• Muscle aches
• Headache

Precautions

Report any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially if fenofibrate is combined with a statin. Your doctor may check liver function and, at times, kidney function during treatment. Take it with food, and continue the diet and lifestyle changes your doctor advises.
