HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE
Hydrochlorothiazide is a water tablet (diuretic) that helps the body remove extra salt and fluid, which lowers blood pressure. It is often combined with other blood-pressure medicines.

Common Side Effects
- Passing urine more often
- Dizziness
- Muscle cramps from low potassium
Precautions
Take it in the morning so you are not up at night passing urine. Your doctor may check kidney function and salts such as potassium. You may be more sensitive to the sun. Stand up slowly, and tell your doctor about any severe cramps or unusual tiredness.
