IPRATROPIUM BROMIDE INHALER
Ipratropium bromide is an inhaled medicine that helps open the airways. It is used mainly for COPD and sometimes alongside other inhalers in asthma.
What Ipratropium Bromide Is Used For
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Breathing difficulty with wheeze
- Added to other inhalers in some asthma cases
Common Side Effects
- Dry mouth
- Throat irritation
- Headache
Precautions
Avoid getting the inhaler or nebuliser mist in the eyes, especially if you have glaucoma. Ipratropium helps prevent and ease symptoms rather than rescue a sudden severe attack, so keep any fast-acting reliever to hand. Learning correct inhaler technique helps a great deal.
