KETOCONAZOLE
Ketoconazole is an antifungal used mainly on the skin and scalp to treat fungal infections and dandruff. It comes as a cream and a medicated shampoo.
What Ketoconazole Is Used For
- Fungal skin infections
- Dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis, in shampoo form
- Fungal infections of the scalp
Common Side Effects
- Mild skin irritation or itching
- Dryness where applied
- Change in hair texture with the shampoo
Precautions
For the shampoo, leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing, and use it as often as directed rather than daily unless told. Keep it out of the eyes. If a skin infection does not improve after the advised time, see a doctor or pharmacist.
