Mebendazole is an anti-worm (anthelmintic) medicine used to treat intestinal worm infections. It comes as chewable tablets and suspension.
What Mebendazole Is Used For
- Threadworm, roundworm, hookworm and whipworm
- Mixed intestinal worm infections
Common Side Effects
- Mild stomach upset
- Wind
- Occasional loose motions
Precautions
For threadworm, treating the whole household at the same time and washing bedding and towels helps prevent reinfection. Chew the tablet or take the suspension as directed. It is generally avoided in pregnancy, so tell your doctor if you could be pregnant.
