NICOTINAMIDE BETAINE GLUCURONATE
This combination brings together betaine, nicotinamide and related compounds, sometimes with citrulline, in preparations used to support liver function. They aim to assist the liver in processing fat and clearing ammonia.
What It Is Used For
- Supportive treatment in fatty liver
- Support during recovery from liver inflammation
- Tiredness and poor appetite associated with liver conditions
- Adjunct to treatment of the underlying liver problem
Common Side Effects
- Nausea
- Stomach discomfort
- Loose motions
- Flushing
Precautions
These are supportive preparations, not a treatment for the cause of liver disease. Fatty liver responds mainly to weight reduction, control of blood sugar and stopping alcohol, and viral hepatitis needs specific antiviral treatment. Liver blood tests and a proper diagnosis come first. Report yellowing of the eyes, dark urine, swelling of the abdomen or confusion.
