vonoprazan
Vonoprazan is a newer type of acid-reducing medicine that lowers stomach acid quickly and for a sustained period. It is used for reflux and ulcer-related conditions.
What Vonoprazan Is Used For
- Acid reflux and heartburn (GERD)
- Stomach and duodenal ulcers
- Part of combination treatment for H. pylori
Common Side Effects
- Constipation or diarrhoea
- Headache
- Nausea
Precautions
Vonoprazan is meant for a defined course rather than indefinite daily use without review. See a doctor if heartburn keeps returning after a course, or if you notice weight loss, difficulty swallowing or black stools. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you take.
