Gesteze 20mg Capsule contains the active ingredient Esomeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It is formulated as an oral capsule for the treatment of gastrointestinal conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease (PUD), and other acid-related disorders.

Active Ingredient:

Esomeprazole: This medication works by selectively inhibiting the proton pump in the gastric parietal cells, reducing the secretion of gastric acid. By decreasing acid production, Esomeprazole helps to alleviate symptoms and promote healing of the gastrointestinal mucosa.

Uses:

Gesteze 20mg Capsule is indicated for:

• Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) to relieve symptoms such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and chest pain.
• Healing and maintenance therapy of erosive esophagitis, a condition characterized by inflammation and damage to the esophageal lining due to gastric acid reflux.
• Management of peptic ulcer disease (PUD), including duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and ulcer prevention in patients receiving nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
• Reduction of gastric acid secretion in patients with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by excessive gastric acid production.

Mechanism of Action:

Esomeprazole works by irreversibly binding to the proton pump (H⁺/K⁺-ATPase) in the gastric parietal cells, inhibiting the final step of acid secretion. This results in a sustained reduction in gastric acid production, leading to relief of symptoms and healing of acid-related disorders.

Administration:
