ARTEMETHER
Artemether is an antimalarial medicine, most often combined with lumefantrine. It acts quickly to clear the malaria parasite from the blood and is a first-line treatment for uncomplicated malaria.

Common Side Effects
- Headache and dizziness
- Loss of appetite
- Tiredness
- Nausea
Precautions
Take artemether with a fatty meal or milk, which greatly improves how much of the medicine is absorbed. Complete the full course exactly as prescribed so the malaria is fully cleared and does not return. See a doctor urgently if malaria symptoms are severe u2013 high fever with confusion or breathing trouble needs hospital care, not oral tablets.
