BETAMETHASONE
Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness and itching. It comes as skin creams and ointments, drops and injection.
What Betamethasone Is Used For
- Eczema, dermatitis and other inflammatory skin conditions
- Reducing severe inflammation and allergic reactions
- Some eye and ear conditions, in drop form
Common Side Effects
- Thinning of the skin with long use of the cream
- Mild burning or stinging
- Skin colour changes
Precautions
Use betamethasone cream only on the area and for the time your doctor advised, and avoid using strong steroid creams on the face unless told to. Do not stop steroid tablets or injections suddenly after prolonged use. Overuse of potent steroid creams can damage the skin.
