Climbazole
Climbazole is an azole antifungal used in hair and skin products. It reduces the Malassezia yeast that lives on the scalp and contributes to dandruff, and it is frequently combined with zinc pyrithione or piroctone olamine.

Precautions
Give the shampoo a few minutes on the scalp before rinsing, and use it regularly rather than only during a flare, since dandruff returns when treatment stops. Rotating between different active ingredients helps when one seems to lose effect. Avoid contact with the eyes. Persistent scaling with redness on the face or chest as well may be seborrhoeic dermatitis needing a doctor.
