DULOXETINE
Duloxetine is used for depression and anxiety and also for certain types of nerve pain. It works on chemical messengers in the brain and nervous system.
What Duloxetine Is Used For
- Depression
- Generalised anxiety disorder
- Nerve pain, such as in diabetes
Common Side Effects
- Nausea, especially early on
- Dry mouth
- Drowsiness or difficulty sleeping
- Reduced appetite
Precautions
Do not stop duloxetine suddenly – the dose is lowered gradually to avoid withdrawal effects. It may take a few weeks to feel the full benefit for mood. Tell your doctor if you feel unusually low or restless in the early weeks, and avoid alcohol while taking it.
