FUSIDIC ACID
Fusidic acid is an antibiotic used mainly on the skin and eyes to treat bacterial infection. It comes as a cream, ointment and eye drops.
What Fusidic Acid Is Used For
- Skin infections such as impetigo
- Infected cuts, grazes and eczema
- Bacterial eye infections, in drop form
Common Side Effects
- Mild stinging or itching where applied
- Skin redness
- Irritation
Precautions
Use fusidic acid for the full time advised and not longer, as overusing antibiotics on the skin can lead to resistance. Apply to clean skin, and use only preparations labelled for the eyes in the eyes. See a doctor if the infection is not improving.
