Precautions

Dependence develops within weeks of regular use, and stopping abruptly can cause rebound insomnia, anxiety and in some cases fits, so any reduction is planned with your doctor. Never combine it with alcohol or other sedatives. Older adults face a much higher risk of falls and confusion. Persistent insomnia is better addressed by finding the cause than by continuing tablets.
