NAPHAZOLINE

Naphazoline is a decongestant found in eye drops and nasal preparations. It narrows small blood vessels to reduce redness and congestion.

What Naphazoline Is Used For

• Redness of the eyes from minor irritation
• Nasal congestion, in spray form

Common Side Effects

• Brief stinging
• Rebound redness or congestion with overuse
• Dryness

Precautions

Do not use naphazoline for more than a few days at a time, as overuse leads to rebound redness or congestion that is worse than before. Avoid it if you have glaucoma, and see a doctor if eye redness comes with pain or vision changes rather than treating it yourself.
