Ribavirin
Ribavirin is a medication used to treat certain viral infections, particularly hepatitis C and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections. It belongs to a class of drugs known as nucleoside analogs, which work by interfering with the replication of the virus.
In the treatment of hepatitis C, ribavirin is often used in combination with other antiviral medications, such as interferon or direct-acting antivirals (DAAs). This combination therapy helps to suppress the replication of the hepatitis C virus, reduce liver inflammation, and prevent the progression of liver disease
