Uses of Avinza 40mg capsule
Avinza 40mg capsule is used for:
- Acidity, heartburn and acid reflux (GERD)
- Stomach and duodenal ulcers
- Part of combination treatment for H. pylori
- Protecting the stomach when taking long-term painkillers
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Avinza 40mg capsule can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:
- Headache
- Diarrhoea or constipation
- Nausea and abdominal pain

Precautions
Esomeprazole is meant for a defined course, not indefinite daily use without review. Taking it for long periods can lower magnesium and vitamin B12 levels and may affect bone strength. If heartburn keeps returning after a course, or you notice weight loss, difficulty swallowing or black stools, see a doctor rather than continuing on your own.
Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How to Use
Take Avinza 40mg capsule exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
