Methadex 0.10% drops contains Dexamethasone (0.10%). It is an eye and ear medicine.

Uses of Methadex 0.10% drops

Methadex 0.10% drops is used for:

  • Eye inflammation and inflammation of the ear canal
  • Including inflammation after eye surgery

Side Effects

Common side effects of Methadex 0.10% drops include:

  • Brief stinging or blurred vision
  • Mild irritation where used

Long or repeated use of steroid eye drops can raise the pressure in the eye or cause cataract, so use them only for as long as your doctor advises and go for check-ups if treatment is long.

Precautions

  • Do not use it for a red eye or painful ear that has not been checked by a doctor.
  • Use it only for the time your doctor advises.
  • Do not let the tip of the bottle touch the eye or any other surface, to keep it clean.
  • If you use more than one eye medicine, wait at least 5 minutes between them.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines you use, any allergies, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to Use

For the eye, tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid and put in the drops as advised. For the ear, lie on your side with the ear facing up and stay lying down for a few minutes. Wash your hands before and after use. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store as directed on the pack, away from heat and direct sunlight. Throw the bottle away after the time printed on the label once it is opened. Keep out of the reach of children.
