Uses of Rifadin syrup

Rifadin syrup is used for:

  • Leprosy
  • Prevention of meningitis in close contacts
  • Some serious bacterial infections

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Rifadin syrup can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Orange-red urine, tears and sweat (harmless)
  • Nausea or stomach upset
  • Effects on the liver

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

Liver tests may be needed. It can stain soft contact lenses. It makes the contraceptive pill and many other medicines less effective, so tell your doctor about everything you take. Complete the full course.

How to Use
