Rivaroxaban is a blood thinner (anticoagulant) that helps prevent harmful blood clots. It is taken by mouth and, unlike older blood thinners, does not usually need regular blood-clotting tests.

Rivaxo 10 mg tablet is used to treat or manage:
- Stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Pulmonary embolism
- Clot prevention after hip or knee surgery
Side Effects of Rivaxo 10 mg tablet
Not everyone gets side effects. Those reported include:
- Bruising
- Nosebleeds or bleeding gums
- Heavy periods
- Nausea
Get medical help straight away for signs of a serious reaction, such as swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing or a severe rash.
Before You Use Rivaxo 10 mg tablet
- Do not miss doses or stop it without your doctor’s advice, as clot risk rises.
- Higher strengths should be taken with food.
- Tell every doctor and dentist that you take a blood thinner.
- Avoid NSAID painkillers such as ibuprofen unless your doctor approves.
- It must not be used in pregnancy.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C in the original pack. Do not use after the expiry date, and keep all medicines away from children.
