Lignocaine (lidocaine) is a local anaesthetic that numbs a small area. It is used to relieve pain on the skin, gums and other surfaces, and in minor procedures.

Use only the amount directed, as applying too much over a large area can lead to more being absorbed than intended. For mouth and teething gels, follow the pack carefully, especially for children. Avoid using it on broken or badly damaged skin unless a doctor advises.

Xylocain 2% injection is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse, or by you only if you have been shown how to do it. Follow the instructions you were given and read the leaflet. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.
Store as directed on the pack. Some injections need to be kept in a fridge, so check the label. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
