Zefdil 25 mg|5 ml suspension contains Furazolidone. It comes as a suspension. The pack contains 60 ml suspension.

Furazolidone is an anti-infective medicine that acts mainly in the gut against bacteria and some parasites.

Uses of Zefdil 25 mg|5 ml suspension

Zefdil 25 mg|5 ml suspension is used for:

  • Bacterial diarrhoea and dysentery
  • Giardiasis

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Zefdil 25 mg|5 ml suspension can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Headache
  • Brown urine

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

Avoid alcohol during treatment and for a few days after. It can interact with some antidepressants and certain foods rich in tyramine, so tell your doctor about other medicines. It is not given to babies under one month. Drink plenty of fluids.
