Overview
Zolt 500mg/400mg tablet is a combination medicine that contains Diloxanide Furoate and Metronidazole. It comes as a tablet. The pack contains 15 tablet.
This medicine combines two anti-parasite medicines. Metronidazole treats amoebae and giardia in the gut wall and body, and diloxanide clears amoeba cysts that stay in the bowel.
Uses of Zolt 500mg/400mg tablet
Zolt 500mg/400mg tablet is used for:
- Amoebic dysentery (intestinal amoebiasis)
- Giardiasis
- Mixed gut infections caused by amoebae and giardia
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Zolt 500mg/400mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:
- Metallic taste
- Nausea
- Wind (flatulence)
- Loss of appetite
Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.
Precautions
Do not drink alcohol during treatment and for at least 2 days after it, as metronidazole can cause severe sickness with alcohol. Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, a blood disorder or nerve problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Complete the full course.

How to Use

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
