About this product

Overview

Quisha Met 5/850mg Tablet is a medication available in tablet form. It contains a combination of two active ingredients: dapagliflozin & metformin hydrochloride (HCl). Dapagliflozin belongs to a class of medications called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, while metformin is a biguanide antidiabetic agent. This combination medication is used to manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Uses

  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Quisha Met 5/850mg Tablet is used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
  • Blood Sugar Control: It helps lower blood sugar levels by increasing the excretion of glucose in the urine and reducing the production of glucose in the liver.

Dosage and Administration

  • The dosage of Quisha Met 5/850mg Tablet and the frequency of administration will depend on the individual’s medical condition, response to treatment, and other factors as determined by a healthcare professional.
  • The tablet should be taken orally with a full glass of water.
  • It is typically taken once or twice daily with meals, as directed by the prescribing physician.

Precautions

  • Kidney Function: Caution is advised in patients with impaired kidney function, as both dapagliflozin and metformin are primarily excreted via the kidneys. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
  • Dehydration: Patients should be monitored for signs of dehydration, particularly during periods of illness or in hot weather.
  • Hypoglycemia: Quisha Met 5/850mg Tablet may increase the risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), especially when used in combination with other antidiabetic medications. Patients should be educated about the signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia.

Side Effects

  • Common side effects may include urinary tract infections, genital yeast infections, increased urination, thirst, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, and headache.
  • Serious side effects such as lactic acidosis (a rare but potentially life-threatening condition) and hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Prompt medical attention is required if these occur.

Storage

  • Store Quisha Met 5/850mg Tablet at room temperature (15-30°C) away from moisture and heat.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not use Quisha Met 5/850mg Tablet if the packaging is damaged or if the tablets appear discolored or deteriorated.
