Fluocinolone is a corticosteroid used on the skin, and in some ear and scalp preparations, to reduce inflammation and itching.

What Fluocinolone Is Used For

• Eczema and dermatitis
• Inflamed, itchy skin conditions
• Some scalp and ear conditions

Common Side Effects

• Mild burning or stinging on application
• Skin thinning with prolonged use
• Dryness

Precautions

Apply fluocinolone thinly to the affected area and for the time your doctor advised, avoiding the face and prolonged use unless told. Do not use it under airtight dressings unless directed. If the skin does not improve in the advised time, see a doctor.
