Sodamint tablets contain sodium bicarbonate with peppermint. The bicarbonate neutralises stomach acid within minutes and the peppermint eases the sensation of fullness and helps trapped wind pass.

What Sodamint Tablets Are Used For

  • Heartburn and acidity
  • Indigestion after heavy or spicy meals
  • Trapped wind and bloating
  • Making the urine less acidic, on medical advice

Common Side Effects

  • Belching from the gas produced
  • Bloating
  • Nausea
  • Fluid retention with regular use

Precautions

Sodium bicarbonate carries a substantial sodium load, so it is a poor choice for anyone with high blood pressure, heart failure or kidney disease, and it is for occasional use rather than daily. Leave two hours between antacids and other medicines. Heartburn several times a week, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, weight loss or black stools needs proper assessment.
